Designer Joe Caswell, hailed as a mad scientist in the knife world, is the mastermind behind the Provoke®, which was designed in Newbury Park, California. Modeled after a traditional karambit, the hawkbill-style blade is forged from premium D2 steel, ensuring high durability and excellent edge retention.

The Provoke®'s opening mechanism propels the folder into the future. Applying thumb pressure to the upper crossbar sets off a chain reaction, causing the blade to lunge into action while the user maintains a firm grip on the handle. The handle is crafted from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum, providing supreme toughness. The pocket clip, a world's first, sits almost flush with the handle and is likewise activated by light thumb pressure.

The Kinematic™ technology behind the Provoke® Compact is a true innovation. A simple nudge of the upper crossbar with the thumb, while firmly grasping the handle, causes the blade to lunge to life and lock into place. Shifting the discrete lever at the base of the finger loop then retracts the blade into its closed position.

The blade thickness is 0.15 inches (3.73 mm), featuring a chisel grind. In the closed position, the knife measures 4.54 inches (115.42 mm), expanding to 6.63 inches (168.28 mm) when opened. Weighing just 4.4 ounces (124.74g), the Provoke® Compact's aluminum handle combines strength with minimal weight.
