The Provoke® EDC, a departure from the standard folding knife, takes the powerful Kinematic™ technology from the original Provoke® karambit and applies it to a "standard" folding knife that offers flexibility in more ways than one. Designed for anyone who longed for the Kinematic™ opening but did not require a karambit, the Provoke® EDC brings the same innovative technology to a knife meant for everyday carry.
Featuring a new plain-edge blade made from D2 steel for excellent edge retention and a lightweight aluminum handle, the Provoke® EDC allows for comfortable pocket carry. Designer Joe Caswell, often described as a "mad scientist," is the mastermind behind the original Provoke® design, solidifying his position as one of the most innovative designers in the knife industry.
The Provoke® EDC inherits the nearly flush pocket clip of the original, activated with a light press of the thumb. The Kinematic™ opening mechanism propels the folder into the future, with thumb pressure on the upper crossbar initiating a chain reaction that causes the blade to swiftly open while the user maintains a firm grip on the handle. Crafted from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum, this system is not only visually complex but also easy to use, fast, and safe.
