The Chogan™ Mattock is a capable tool that is built to withstand abuse. The head, made of drop-forged 1050 steel, is known for its extreme toughness and durability, while the handle is crafted from fire-treated Tennessee hickory, a dense material that can withstand hard use. Designer Ryan Johnson drew inspiration from his own life in creating the mattock. Growing up, he had "a lot of experience playing in the dirt," gardening and searching for buried artifacts, which taught him the importance of a good digging tool.
